where my story began

My name is Kim, and I grew up on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. I spent a lot of my childhood outdoors, and with a camping trailer and a boat in the family, most weekends were spent out on the water or in the woods, which I don’t think I fully appreciated at the time or realized how lucky I was to be raised around so much nature. When I moved to Alberta, hiking in the Rocky Mountains became my weekend escape, something that always reminded me of home and being immersed in the outdoors. With my camera in hand, I was constantly inspired by the wild beauty around me, and I think those adventures shaped the way I see and tell stories through my lens. Over time, that same love for storytelling naturally grew into photographing people.

I love capturing vibrant pictures of vibrant stories... photographs that feel alive! I focus on real connection with gentle guidance and fun, natural posing so you can feel comfortable and truly yourselves. My editing style leans into rich, true to life colour, so when you look back at your photos in 10, 20, or 50 years from now, the memories feel just as vivid as the day they happened.

I live in Central Alberta with my fiancé, two dogs + three cats... lovingly referred to as the farm. I love being creative, creating connections, and making the most out of everyday moments. When I’m not capturing love stories and special family moments, you’ll find me with my fur babies, exploring the Canadian Rockies, thrifting, dancing, crafting, backcountry camping, watching true crime or my favourite Ghibli movies (balance, obviously), and curating playlists for every mood and moment. Music is such a constant in my life - there’s a soundtrack for everything!

I wasn’t sure if this belonged here, but it’s been a big part of my story over the last few years. In 2022 I broke my leg while skiing, and the next 3+ years became a long healing journey of surgeries, physiotherapy, and a lot of unknowns. It wasn’t always easy to consistently advertise my work for new clients while on surgery waitlists, so I’m incredibly grateful to the clients who trusted me with their weddings and sessions during that time. I’ll never forget hobbling between locations on crutches and tossing them aside so I could limp around on one foot with my camera to get the shot!! Near the end of 2025 I finally got the news I had been hoping for and the treatments were working and a 4th surgery wasn’t needed. I was so excited to finally step back into photography more fully again.

The whole experience gave me a new perspective on how quickly life can change. Even something as simple as walking around with my camera in hand felt more meaningful. It deepened my appreciation for documenting life as it unfolds. Whether it’s your wedding day, welcoming a new little one, or capturing this chapter with your family, photography is about freezing a moment in time so it can be held onto long after it has passed.

Enough about me though, I want to hear about you! Get in touch and let's make some magic together!

mountains are my happy place

Nature is where my creativity really comes alive, and the Canadian Rockies are a constant source of inspiration for my work. I would love to photograph sessions in mountain settings like Kananaskis, Canmore, Lake Louise, Rocky Mountain House and beyond! If you’re dreaming of a mountain session, I’d love to plan something together!!

The mountains are calling...

client experience

Kim did our engagement and our wedding photos. She made the experience as easy as possible during all the stress a wedding can bring. She helped navigate a timeline for the day of the wedding which was also super helpful. Lastly, our photo's turned out absolutely flawless, I have and still am getting so many compliments about what a wonderful job she did.
